CONSTITUENTS OF GREG HABEEB-
This is a long post, but please read all the way through. Message from the office of Sam Rasoul:
Hello Constituents of Delegate Habeeb!
This year the Virginia House of Delegates is weighted 51 to 49, with Republicans in the majority. We have a chance in Virginia to make some great changes for the people that call our State home, and it’s becoming increasingly evident that many on the more extreme opposite side are aware of this. In response, many of the Democratic bills are being put into these subcommittees where there is not enough representation to keep these bills on the floor. Unfortunately, Delegates do not have to report their voting history on bills while in committee.
The two following bills, HB 240 and HB 120 have both been sent to Committee on Commerce and Labor and then assigned to C&L Subcommittee #2
, where Delegate Habeeb is chairman. This is a call to action to reach out to your Delegate urging him to allow each bill a fair chance at passing. I have included below the appropriate language to use in your emails that will ensure he opens them, reads them, and is made aware of his constituents concerns. I have also included links to the bills and their summaries so that you can make certain your beliefs align before sending your emails and making your calls!
Make sure to include in your email the sections bolded, but please take personal liberties as well so that he doesn’t overlook a single persons wishes:
Delegate Gregory D. Habeeb (R) - House District 8
Pocahontas Building, Room E302
900 East Main Street
Richmond, Virginia 23219
Hello/Dear Delegate Habeeb,
As your constituent, and long time member of the Community for which you represent, I urge you to support HB 120 and HB 240. I am aware that both of these bills are in the Commerce and Labor Subcommittee #2
for which you are Chairman. These are bills you should support because they will directly protect your aging population’s rights, benefit your lower income constituents in their pursuit to find jobs, and will cost the government nothing.
I will be following these bills as they pass through your committee and will be talking to my community members about the actions you choose to take on our behalf.
Thank you so much for caring about our home in Southwest Virginia and having the passion to act upon your beliefs and values.
